Το ιδρυτικό μέλος των U.T.F.O., ο M.C. Educated Rapper, πέθανε χθες (3 Ιουνίου) μετά από μια μακρά μάχη με τον καρκίνο σε ηλικία 54 ετών.
Το πραγματικό του ονομα ηταν Jeffrey Campbell σχημάτισε τον hip-hop crew από το Brooklyn, της Νέας Υόρκης στις αρχές της δεκαετίας του 1980 και εργάστηκε εκτενώς στο ομότιτλο πρώτο album τους που κυκλοφόρησε το 1985. Ο Educated Rapper, χαρακτήρισε επίσης από ένα αξέχαστο δεύτερο στίχο για την πιο γνωστή επιτυχία των U.T.F.O., στο Roxanne, Roxanne.
Αυτό το τραγούδι θα δημιουργούσε τους “Πολέμους της Roxanne” (μετά από τις απαντήσεις κυρίως της Roxanne Shanté). Ήταν παραγωγός και co-writter των Full Force.
Την Παρασκευή (2 Ιουνίου), ο Mix Master Ice των U.T.F.O., μοιράστηκε μια συγκινητική φωτογραφία των χεριών τους με τον Campbell ενώ τον επισκέφθηκε στο νοσοκομείο στις τελευταίες του ώρες.
